Healthy Food

Donvale Early Learning Centre provides a 5 week rotating menu that is filled with nutritious ingredients and seasonal fruits and vegetables to create a balance diet.


All meals are freshly prepared by a chef on-site, with consideration to any allergies or dietary requirements (such as vegetarian meals).


We encourage parent feedback and input as we continually update and add new meals to provide children with a variety of tasty dishes.


The National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia (NHMRC) recommends that children maintain a varied diet which includes the five main food groups:

  • Vegetables and legumes/beans
  • Fruits
  • Grain (cereal) foods, mostly wholegrain and/or high cereal fibre varieties
  • Lean meats and poultry, fish, eggs, and legumes/beans
  • Milk, yoghurt cheese and/or alternatives, mostly reduced fat

We use this as a guide to ensure children receive a balanced diet across all five food groups.
